Mini Vacay at the Island Inn Beach Resort in Treasure Island, FL

Family Friendly Local Hotel Review

By Angela Duncan August 11, 2018

I live for summertime! I love the beach, my sign is Cancer, and my element is water. Growing up, my family and I went on yearly summer vacations at the beach and I can remember nearly all of them. I suppose that is why when springtime rolls around, I start planning our family trips near the water.

Last year, we found a local family friendly spot at the Island Inn Beach Resort in Treasure Island, Fl. When I say family friendly, I mean... gulf views, a heated pool with complimentary pool towels, beach volleyball, corn hole games, bike rentals, beach loungers and chairs, propane grills, a tiki bar, and more!

When we arrived, we were greeted with friendly staff at the front desk to check us in. Once we checked in and got our keys, we grabbed our bags and headed to the room... it was pleasantly cozy, clean, and had 2 double beds, a kitchenette, and an amazing gulf view.

(My Mom and my boys checking out the view.)

If you get cold during the night, you might need to bring an extra blanket. The beds didn't have much to keep you warm except a thin sheet and blanket. What you see is what you get... (but that's because I like to crank the a/c down at night). Luckily, my kids never leave home without their comforters. It wasn't a big deal to me, but take note if you get cold during the night.

The kitchenette was just right...nice size fridge, 2 stove tops, cabinets with dishes, drawers with silverware, sink, towels, microwave, coffee maker... but you need to bring your own coffee or you can get a free cup of coffee downstairs at the machine in the lobby.

The parking lot gets packed depending on the season,  but they also have additional parking across the street, so it's not an issue.

The kids loved the pool. It was a nice size and there was plenty of seating, lounge chairs, tables, and even a tiki bar that served snacks and drinks.

The hotel staff was seriously the best I have encountered. They were always smiling, friendly, and available to accomadate your needs. I ended up getting sick on our last night, and a maintenance worker went out of his way to help. I was very impressed with the staff from housekeeping, the front desk staff, maintenance, and the bartenders at the tiki bar. It made our stay even more enjoyable.

The hotel is near so many attractions, one of our favorites is John's Pass Village in Treasure Island. There is a boardwalk on the water with restaurants, beach shops, boating tours, and so much more. We have been going there for over 20 years and I just love it.

The Island Inn Beach Resort also has a 24 hour business center, 24-hour staff services, complimentary WI-FI Internet access throughout the Hotel, complimentary parking, daily housekeeping upon request and even a laundry room to wash your clothes.

The hotel offers individually owned 50 suites with diverse style décor, kitchenettes, full bathrooms, private balconies and a choice of Two double or King beds. Click here to check out their room options. The Island Inn Beach Resort also runs specials and packages so be sure to click here to find out more.

We enjoyed our stay at the Island Inn Beach Resort and will definitely be booking a trip there again soon! It truly is a great vacation spot for families.
